- A '*' on the status bar on the main window when displaying number of new messages (or 'No new messages') indicates that there are new messages in groups other than the current one.
- A '*' next to a group in the newsgroup subscription popup on the main window indicates that there are new messages in that group.
- The 'News Status' window displays all newsgroups (but the active) that have new messages in them. Double clicking on a newsgroup will switch you to that newsgroup. Right click on the newsgroups or window newsgroup area to see other, relevant options.
- A 'half-sized' article icon indicates message body has not been download yet (or no copy of it was found in your local files).

Drag and Drops etc.
-
<-
The following drag and drop and cut/paste procedures can help with writing/posting a message:
- Drag a Briefcase scroll on the main forum window to prompt to post it (scroll description will become message's subject line)
- Drag a SAS explore file OR a Windows Explorer file on the main forum window to prompt to post the contexts of the file (blank message subject line)
- Drag a Briefcase scroll on a post window to replace file to post (message subject line changes to new scroll description)
- Drag a SAS explore file OR a Windows Explorer file on a post window to replace contents of message to post with contents of file dropped (message subject line remains unchanged)
(In all cases, your signature will automatically be added to the message).
- Drag a Windows Explorer file on the briefcase or a SAS explore window to copy file.
- Drag a Windows Explorer file on a SAS editor to paste contents of file at cursor.
- Use context menus on Briefcase scrolls or SAS explore window files to cut and paste files to and from a Windows Explorer. (Use with caution, when copying from SAS and pasting in Windows, Windows will MOVE the file instead of COPYing it).
- Use context menus (or buttons) in Editor to Cut and Paste text to and from the Windows Clipboard. (SAS no longer uses its internal clipboard)
